Grand Theft Auto 6 Gets Official Release Window for Fall 2025

The long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 finally has a more precise release window. According to Take-Two Interactive's recent Q4 and full fiscal year 2024 results, the much-anticipated title is set to launch in Fall 2025. Earlier hints pointed to a 2025 release, but this is the first time the window has been narrowed down. This announcement comes amid heightened excitement and speculation from fans who have eagerly awaited any word on Rockstar Games' next big project.

During the earnings call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick emphasized the company's optimism. "As we enter fiscal year 2025 with positive momentum, we expect to deliver Net Bookings of $5.55 to $5.65 billion," he stated. Zelnick highlighted that the new release window aligns with Rockstar Games' marketing strategy. The CEO expressed high confidence in Rockstar's ability to deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience, which has driven expectations for the commercial impact of Grand Theft Auto 6 even higher.

Despite the promising outlook, Take-Two Interactive reported a significant financial loss for the three months ending March 31st, 2024. The company recorded a $2.9 billion loss, a stark contrast to the $610.3 million loss in the same quarter last year. A major portion of this loss—$2.18 billion—was attributed to a "goodwill charge." Additional losses stemmed from acquisition-related expenses and restructuring costs. Despite these financial challenges, the company remains optimistic about the future.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated to premiere on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, with no official confirmation of a PC release yet. Set in a contemporary version of Vice City, the game chronicles the adventures of two main characters, Lucia and Jason, as they navigate a life of crime. This new installment in the acclaimed series aims to elevate the gameplay experience, offering both veteran players and new fans a captivating and immersive narrative. The setting and character dynamics hint at a richly woven story, continuing Rockstar's legacy of creating deeply engaging games.

While Take-Two and Rockstar have kept specifics under wraps, the narrowed release window gives fans a tangible timeline to look forward to. As Zelnick mentioned, more detailed announcements will come directly from Rockstar, consistent with their marketing approach. Until then, fans can only speculate and stay tuned for further updates. With the promise of unparalleled entertainment, Grand Theft Auto 6 is poised to set new industry standards and deliver record-breaking success for Take-Two Interactive.
