Fortnite Native iOS and macOS Versions Becoming Increasingly Limited

Fortnite, the hugely popular battle royale game, is facing increasing limitations on its native iOS and macOS versions. Since the start of its legal dispute with Apple in the summer of 2020, Epic Games has allowed players who had Fortnite installed on their devices prior to the game's removal from the App Store to continue playing, however, the game has not been updated since the 13.40 release and players are missing out on a range of changes, cosmetics and seasonal passes.

The latest limitation to affect the native iOS and macOS versions of Fortnite is a restriction on the ability to spend V-Bucks within the game. V-Bucks are an in-game currency that can be used to purchase cosmetic items, and from January 30th 2021, players on the native iOS and macOS versions will no longer be able to purchase or spend V-Bucks. Any V-Bucks that have already been purchased on the native iOS and macOS versions will remain in the player's account and can still be used to purchase items, but they will not be able to purchase any more V-Bucks.

Furthermore, players on the native iOS and macOS versions will also be unable to use any real-world money to purchase items in the game using the newly introduced feature, Epic Direct Payment. As Epic Games has stated, this feature is only available on the iOS App Store and Android versions of the game.

In addition to these limitations, players on the native iOS and macOS versions will also be unable to take part in some of the game's seasonal events, such as the annual Fortnite Championship Series. Epic has stated that this is due to the fact that the game on these platforms is not up to date.

It is clear that the native iOS and macOS versions of Fortnite are becoming increasingly limited, and it appears that Epic Games has no plans to update them in the near future. As a result, players on these platforms will have to make do with the limited features available to them, or switch over to the App Store or Android versions of the game if they want to experience the full range of features and events.
